Top tips for relaxing during pregnancy

I have been doing my hypnobirthing course for a few weeks now and and still really enjoying it and it might sound weird but I am actually really looking forward to our birth.
 
What is very clear throughout the whole course that it is best to stay calm and relaxed as best as possible for as long as possible.
 
So I got to thinking. What actually helps me relax….
 
Listening to music:
I have heard a lot that the music I listen to now might help soothe baby once they have arrived, so I started to create a playlist of all the music that helps me feel chilled and happy. This playlist features a lot of Ben Howard and a slow-paced songs. I am trying to listen to this playlist as often as I can so it has been keeping me company on my commute to work this week!
 
Reading:
I do find reading really relaxing I just need to be in the right frame of mind to do it! I often find I read when I get into bed but then am too tired to read more than a page.
 
I find it helps if I am really into a book to, I can just sit and read for hours if I am given the chance.
 
I have a bookshelf full of books on my to read list so I really need to set out some time each day to get reading and finish some books!
 
Meditation:
I find meditation so relaxing, so much so I often find myself falling asleep!! I have to be careful where and how I sit when I start out a practice!!
 
There are a few guided meditations with the hypnobirthing course which I have started to listen to. I know that the more I listen to these the more effective they can be.
 
Running:
I used to love going for a run to help me relax and I understand this might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it really worked for me!
 
I am obviously not Running as much or as far or as fast at the moment but I am still finding it helpful with relaxing when I do make it out.
 
Sitting on the Sofa with Dan:
This one does not really fit in with the whole fitness blogger lifestyle, but I’m not going to lie, I love laying out of the sofa and binge-watching some Netflix with Dan!
 
Now don’t get me wrong we don’t do this all the time but when we do, we do it well!!
 
9 times out of 10 I end up falling asleep on Dan and missing an episode or two, but for me, that is all part of the relaxing process! 😂
