Abs Abs Abs!!!

Flexbody

Lets be honest, we all want better abs or even some abs in my case!!

For the most part I eat well and I exercise a fair amount, but I know I could always do more to get the dream abs! I have seen the advert on tele where Cristiano Ronaldo is wearing the stick on machine creating his mega abs I have to admit I never really thought it would do anything, especially not make me have abs like him!

So when I was asked if I would like to test one out I was well up for it. It would make mind up if they would work or not and if they did, I would have crazy abs! Win Win in my head! 🙂

Looking into these Flexpads I noticed they were not just for working on your abs game, but they can be used for sore muscles and building strength in areas which you might normally struggle. The pads use Electrical Muscle Stimulation which can enhance maximum strength, aid in muscle recovery, support rehabilitation, generates 30% greater maximum muscle contraction through involuntary activation. I have quite a few issues with my neck and shoulder so was really excited to try it out and see if it could help me at all.

I received the combination pack which had the Flexabs and the Flexbody in. The Flexabs is the bigger batman 6 pack looking pad and has a small control panel on the from and two gel pads that help to conduct the electrical pulse and stick them onto your skin. The Flexbody is the smaller pad with just two pads either side of the control panel.

Each one has an on and off button which works as the dial for the intensity, and a mode button which gives you the choice of which patterned you would like. They are both really simple to attach and use and really allow you to use them as you want, if you want to be doubled over in pain with it, you can! 🙂

The information you get with it and their website show people wearing them whilst doing exercise. Now not only do I think this isn’t a good idea as it would hurt a lot, my wouldn’t stick on full to be able to move a lot, I typically sit on the sofa for the 20 mins whilst it is doing its magic!

I have got into a really good routine of using it every morning but missed using it for the past week due to being away with work. I had started to see some progress with how my abs were looking and how much better my neck was feeling, so I am 100% going to get back into using it regularly and show you if there is any difference!

Roll On: Triple Dry Nourish Deodorant review

As gross as this post is going to be, but I am going to be honest….I am a sweaty person! If I get warm or exercise a lot I sweat, I don’t think I smell with it, but I do get a bit conscious about it!

So for those of you who don’t know I work at a sports events company, we specialise in triathlons and half marathons. We have between 10 and 15 events in the year, and for some of those we need to be away all weekend getting the site set up. Now although I don’t do a lot of heavy lifting it can get pretty physical at times.

We’ve just got back from our second Half Outlaw event this year. This time the event was in Holkham which is in Norfolk – we left the office last Thursday and got back on Monday afternoon. Each day that we were there we get up pretty early and have a full days work and then go to bed roughly around 10 o’clock with a few nights ending gone past midnight. So as you can imagine it’s pretty full on.

So when I received the Triple Dry Nourishing roll on deodorant, I already had in my head that this would be the perfect event to test it out. With the hard and the long days and with fingers crossed the good weather it can become a pretty sweaty time.

I have to admit I was pretty dubious about the deodorant when it arrived. How can something that you apply once in an evening stop you from sweating for the full next day? In fact, the packaging say “Clinically proven 72 hour wetness protection” I did think that there be a bit of a funky smell with it, and that it would potentially hurt my underarms.

So when I tried it, I was nicely surprised. There was no horrible chemical smell, it dried nice and quick, and if I got any of my clothes it didn’t leave a horrible stain.

Instructions on the bottle tell you to roll on each arm pit in the evening before you go to bed, allow it to dry and then wash like normal in the morning. The only difference is it your normal routine would be not to re-apply deodorant in the morning. Others to take me a few days to get used to as it fell completely wrong nothing modelling on in the morning.

The first day was really conscious that not work and I smell a bit sweaty. I don’t think I did in reality I was just panicking about it. Over the course of the week it started to get used to only apply and usually at night time and not again in the morning and it was really working for me true test will be the event weekend.

With over 20,000 steps a day, a bit heavy lifting, and a whole lot of sunshine this past weekend it could’ve been a really smelly one. I was so happy that deodorant had worked perfectly and not left me a sweaty smelly mess.

If you are a person who sweats and is worried about the smell that you’re letting off I would thoroughly recommend this deodorant. It doesn’t smell funky is nice on your skin and is pretty cheap for how good it is. This 50ml bottle is £6.45 from any boots store or online.

30 Day Challenge – Week 1

Week one started really well, I had planned food for the week and planned out the hits sessions for each day. Even though the meals look pretty small and the workouts look really hard, I was really looking forward to getting stuck into it.

The main aim behind the protein well challenge was to decrease intake of food and increase calorie expenditure by working out – This I can understand however I’m not a big fan of cutting down on food.

With my long work day I’m used to planning out food to the last ingredient. So planning my food for this week was quite exciting. The protein world website and a great range of different recipes for me to try.

The one thing I really wasn’t too sure about with this challenge, was the tablets I was supposed to take. The first tablet was a fat metaboliser tablet and the second one was a hunger buster. I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to taking tablets so was a little upset at the size of these ones and not 100% confident in taking tablets to make me less hungry or to help me lose fat. I am supposed to take the tablets three times a day just before food.

So, Monday come around and the food was great feeling pretty happy I decided to take on the first hit session. I didn’t anticipate just how hard this would be. I hate to admit it but only managed to complete half of the reps. In my head half was better than I right?

Tuesday, I woke up feeling a little sore from the workout but really determined to face the day and snatch the challenge. Again there is a planned out to that part was easy the only difficulty I had was taking the tablets. Again I up for the work out and managed complete the full set.

The rest of the week follow in a pretty similar fashion, really enjoying the food and really give it a good shot at the workouts. The weekends are where I really find it difficult to stick to a plan. I’m always pretty busy at weekends either working events, going home to see the family, or generally just meeting up with people that I haven’t seen in awhile.

Again throughout the whole week I was pretty rubbish at taking the tablets, I would always forget that I needed to take them before I’d eaten and then I remember after and then thought there was no point taking them!

All in all week one done really well, the food was lovely the workouts are hard but fun and I feel pretty happy.

Sock it to them

When I am excising I have a ton of leggings and loads of tops to wear, but the one thing I really struggle to get right it the socks! If they are a little too small or a little too big they kill my feet!

So finding the right pair is really important to me! I know how much I am sounding like Goldie locks right now, but it is very true. No one enjoys getting blisters or having to stop during a run every few minutes to adjust your socks. I prefer sports socks that come just above my trainers for running and slightly higher for netball.

When Bridgedale got in touch to see if I would be interested in testing out some of the new socks I was really excited, and of course I wanted to test them out!

I received three different pairs and I think I fell in love with all of them! The first pair I tried out was the Na-kd Gym SocksThese are designed for gymgoers, they are ultra-light running socks and feature a SlingShot heel fit which means they don’t move around and don’t rub. I would probably say these are my favourites!

The second pair I tried out were the Speed Diva Running and Cycling Socksthese ones are again really lightweight and highly breathable, my favourite thing about these socks is the cushioning on pressure points (ball of the foot, lace up area and Achilles) they are soooo comfy and really cushiony! (not sure if that is a word but I’m going with it!)

The third and final pair are the Bridgedale Trekker – These ones are Bridgedale’s bestselling mid-weight sock. It brings together Enduro Wool and technical fibres giving fast wicking moisture control and durability. They are a lot higher up the ankle than the other two, so I have worn these when walking.

I think all three of these pairs of socks are amazing and would honestly wear these for all of my workouts! Now I just need to go and order them! Do you only wear one brand of socks?
